7th August:
I woke up to the sound of 1920s/30s Jazz playing from the main reception area and a slow mutter of a racial equality debate in a little sitting area below my stilted dorm: a true backpackers.
Went out onto the balcony deck and the view was stunning- worth the journey!

Pretty fancy compost toilet if you ask me!

Only downside is it's quite pricey here, but it's all sustainable and self-sufficient: they grow all the food here, source the water from a nearby spring, get all the power from solar panels and all other resources are sources here.

They have a variety of treks going out each morning, but you have to sign up the day before so I was too late to join in on any going out this morning. I might try do one tomorrow to the waterfall before I leave to go back to Mzuzu.
I met a girl called Naomi who has been living out here for 4 years. We had a massive discussion about our mutual love for chickens! Although hers all have German names I can't pronounce or spell. She explained about all her plans for her pig pen as well, and her interesting methods for collecting all the manure for her permaculture project.
I signed up for the waterfall hike tomorrow!
The food here was incredible! I knew the dinner portions were massive, so for lunch I just ordered a salad, and this is what they brought out!! The tastiest salad I've ever had, and usually I just think it counts as rabbit food... Not this one.
And everything is grown on site!
