Day 28: Joseph, certificates, Bawo, puppies, canoe fleet returns

3rd August:

I read with the kids in the morning then had Joseph rehearsals, but I cut it short because Ezmequie's godfather just died. I then created and typed up a certificate for all the teachers training under Meg on her teacher training course for when they finish on Friday. I thought I'd be able to use the computer to upload pics onto my blog but there's no wifi there.
In the afternoon I beat one of the locals, and then Dave at Bawo (apparently it's not spelt Bao) which was pretty cool seeing as they've been playing since kids and I've been playing for less than a month. They weren't happy about that!
I then went to Dave's house to meet his grandfather (both his parents have passed away) and his two new puppies, one called Diego, the other one I apparently have to name! Suggestions welcome :)

I came back to find out that Hector, Wesley and Isaac have just walked through the door after getting back from their big 120km canoe adventure!!
After dinner we went next door to Mayoka for a few drinks and I heard all their stories about asking the chiefs of each village if they could camp on their beach. It also turns out Hector's real name is Denyer, but he changes his name each time he goes travelling, and so uses his dog's name, Hector. We looked through the bookshelf at Mayoka and flipped to random pages to look for name inspiration for Dave's puppy.
